My Story

Salam everyone,

Ramadan Mubarak! Last year, many of you supported me during my K2 Trek, and I initially thought it would be my only charity challenge. However, after witnessing the impactful work firsthand and seeking another challenge, I've decided to embark on another journey. Also, I was impressed by how the fund was given to the local people to see where the work needed to happen and the charity was there to support and follow the work. Zakat money

I've chosen to support children once again. This time, I aim to visit the projects personally inshallah.

This year's challenge involves cycling! Depending on my finances, I hope to undertake two challenges:

Main one: Cycling over 300km in Bangladesh

London to Paris in 3 days (subject to finances).

I'm aiming to raise £1.5k for #ChildrenoftheWorld, a charity dedicated to providing orphaned children with food, education, and resources for a better future.

For Muslims, this donation is Zakat applicable.

I've noticed the overwhelming support for Gaza and I know a lot of you have said that you've already paid a lot, but other areas are struggling to raise funds. And this is a major cause. So please see if you can add a little extra to this one.

I'll cover the trip expenses myself, and all funds raised will go directly to charity.

I'll be training rigorously for these challenges, and if you'd like to follow my journey, share your email or follow me @baharfitness_.

For those unfamiliar with my cycling background, I'm relatively new to cycling (only started pedalling under 2 years ago, and was too busy hiking last year), so this presents a significant challenge for me.

Please share this message widely!

Thank you,
Bahar

Working in some of the harshest environments, Muslim Charity has rescued thousands of children from the street where abuse and exploitation were all they have known. Muslim Charity understands that every country and community is different, and our projects are designed to synchronise with society's norms, culture and government policies.

In Pakistan, Muslim Charity supports children involved in child labour in Peshawar and brothel children in Lahore. Social mobilisers encourage them to join our informal education centres, where we ensure their education and psychosocial well-being.

In Bangladesh, Muslim Charity has been rescuing street children since 2014. A permanent transitional shelter is located in Dhaka, and regular Schools under the Sky are run in busy ferry terminals like Sadarghat, which are informal schools aiming to give street children a primary education.
